STEALTH Content Store for Zimbra™ Collaboration Suite , using Caringo™ CAStor™ as the infrastructure for its message storage.

The Zimbra Collaboration Suite includes e-mail, shared calendar and instant messaging that all work together as a complete end-to-end solution. The Zimbra Data Store handles all preference and message metadata and the Message Store uses the local Linux file system for physical message storage where all email messages and file attachments reside. However, the Linux file system is not the most efficient way for storing unstructured binary content. It is costly to manage, unsecure and not easy to scale.

To make that decision you have to look at the nature of your content and how it is being processed. If your content consists mainly of Microsoft Office content, like Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and PowerPoint presentations that are accessed frequently by a large group of users, than a File System Structure is your best decision. As it works fast, very fast.

If your SharePoint content is mainly archive content that should be kept in a high secure place to be stored away for years than a Content Addressed Storage is your best decision. With high secure we mean content that cannot be addressed without SharePoint access. Access other ways will result in unfindable content. High secure we also mean that content can only be altered or deleted according to storage policies.
